We’re bringing you over 50 unique creatures, from the terrifying to the adorable, designed by Yo Shinoya-Frank, Dai Jia Rong He and Mohammed Bellafquih. Each creature is overflowing with beautifully crafted lore that merges traditional and contemporary storytelling influences alongside dynamic, exciting stat blocks.
- Devastating Gargantuan Kaiju
It’s time D&D went BIG. Ryoko’s includes colossal behemoths in the form of kaiju, and an entire rules expansion to 5e for running epic, gargantuan combat encounters. Each kaiju comes with three stat block variations so DMs can run them for players of any level, and with breathtaking lore and history crafted by Yo and Dai.
- A plethora of player options
Over 25 races and subclasses created by the team, with lore from Dai and Yo, art from Phan Tuan Dat, Ognjen Sporin, and Sohaib Zekri, and mechanics from João Araújo, Max Wartelle and Will Earl. Ryoko’s also introduces an all new class: The Element Bender, inspired by Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, brought to life with stunning art from Phan.
- Magic items and Prostheses
Over 50 new pieces of incredible adventuring equipment, magic items, and prosthetics to give players the tools to swing, grapple, and fly through the air. They appear with new mechanics for using prostheses in your games crafted under the supervision of our disability consultant Rue.

How do I get add-ons (like the Dragon Mini)?
Simple. When you choose a tier, you can add add-ons. If you don’t choose them, you can hit ‘manage your pledge’, ‘change your pledge’, and add them.
You’ll have another chance to increase your pledge and purchase add-ons when we send out our backerkit surveys, so don’t worry about missing out.

Will there be a Pledge Manager?
Yes! We’re using Backerkit. You’ll get an email to fill out a survey about 2-3 weeks after the campaign finishes. Here you’ll give us your address and have a chance to raise your pledge tier and add more add-ons :)

Will the handouts be available digitally? Or are they strictly print?
If you purchase the handout add on, this will include a digital PDF version of them all. Alternatively, the handouts are included in the digital VTT Adventure Bundle and the Digital Asset Bundle.

I backed in the first 72 hours, how do I make sure I get my free Yokai Dawn Dice Set?
Here’s how this works: - You back the project (including a physical product) - Kickstarter makes a timestamp of when you backed - In Backerkit we select everyone who backed before the 72 hour mark - We remove the people who didn’t buy a physical product - Everyone who backed in the first 72 hours then gets asked, in their Backerkit survey, whether they want the dice. - If you say yes, it’s added to your order for free! You won’t get any confirmation until you hit Backerkit, but we’ll have updates closer to the end of the campaign re-explaining all of this. NOTE: if you edit your pledge, that’s fine, the timestamp doesn’t change. If you cancel your pledge, then it’s deleted and you might miss out (even if you back again later).

What exactly are yokai?
Yo Shionoya-Frank here! A lot of people think Yokai are just monsters, and they are often described as the form of apparitions, specters, or devils. In a way, yokai are all of these things and none of them.
Yokai ( 妖怪 ) literally means strange apparition. They are simply something unexplained or mystical; from the ghost of someone who died with strong emotion subsisting beyond death, to playful and mischievous nature spirits, to an umbrella that has been around for centuries and gained sentience.
Most (but not all) the creatures we created for Ryoko’s are yokai, or inspired by existing yokai, and many of the player race options, such as the tengu and kitsune (and their abilities), are drawn from yokai folktales.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
